Firearms Freedom

We don't have time for this stuff-- Who Does??   But we all have a stake in the future of shooting sports so it requires some attention.  The best source I have found is the NRA California Member's Council.  These guys are very savvy on the legislative situation and will only request action on bills that are a serious threat to us.  Too many organizations "cry wolf" at every opportunity in order to generate contributions.  The Members Council does not solicit monetary contributions.  If you sign up for their updates, they will notify you of pending legislation that requires action and they have a "One Click"  system so you can send e-mails to the entire legislature or any committee hearing the bill.  If you are going to pick one resource, this is it.  http://www.nramemberscouncils.com/

The California Rifle and Pistol Association also provides legislative updates at the state, county and local levels and has a full time lobbyist.  http://www.crpa.org/

The NRA Institute for Legislative Action is also the best resource we have at the Federal level.  http://www.nraila.org

The NRA also has the NRA Winning Team page which has legislative information.  http://nrawinningteam.com/index.html

And last but not least, there is a site that does an excellent job of debunking the anti-gunners arguments.  FlashBunny.org - Fighting to win.

BLOGS

What the hell is a blog?  It is short for Web Log and it is a web site that contains the rants of whoever is running the blog.  Some guys write about their families and kids and dogs and other boring stuff like that and others are quite serious and provide astute insight and analysis on a variety of matters.  The uncovering of the CBS 60 minutes documents scandal was done by bloggers who were able to investigate the story thru the input of all their readers on the internet.

Anyway, a must read for general gun info is: http://www.kimdutoit.com/dr/weblog.php

Also a fun blog is http://boomershoot.org/index.html   This one is about a match held annually in Idaho where they shoot at exploding targets at  200 to 700 yards.

If you want some insight on events in Iraq check out http://belmontclub.blogspot.com/   and  http://www.blackfive.net/  and  http://www.ravnwood.com/
